When tragedy strikes anywhere in the world the first people to suffer are children. As charities work to alleviate the stress that prevails when catastrophes occur, they know that the simple gift of a hand-knitted teddy bear sends these children the message that someone in the world cares for them and that they are loved.

Can you can help knit or crochet a bear? Patterns (to make a bear less than 25cm [10 inches] high) are available on the Mission Table. If you can’t crochet or knit, can you sew bags for the bears, or help by donating yarn or stuffing? A few hours spent on a craft you love, and your creation could help to bring hope and comfort to a child in distress.
